The Kintner’s Update – July 2018

“And when they were come, and had gathered the church together, they reviewed all that God had done with them, and how he had opened a door of faith unto the Gentiles.” Acts:14

After nearly 6,000 miles of travel, we are blessed to be safely home in Sebring, Florida again. Our journey of reporting to the churches and individuals who have faithfully supported our ministry and prayed for many years has been a blessing to us. We were able to visit 10 churches during June and July, and participate in the EBI retreat in Tennessee, and Paul attended three days of the BMM annual conference in Ohio. Due to Elaine’s painful back problem, she returned to Florida by Air on July 9th, while Paul traveled back to Florida after the BMM conference.

Back home in Sebring, we immediately resumed our activities in the prison and jail ministries, as well as Paul in the office at EBI. Paul’s Hispanic class in the prison has grown under the leadership of his substitute, Angel Gonzalez who also lives in our village. Paul will teach the English class next month while their teacher is on vacation. He will also preach two Sundays in the worship hour in English. Elaine has returned to the jail ministry twice a month.

We had the pleasant experience of hosting a missionary family from Ecuador July 20-23. The wife was saved as a young girl in Ecuador in 1991, and met a handsome short term missionary from Ireland at a camp we rented in those years. Mark returned to Ireland to join his mission, and Nube studied at our Seminary in Peru. Mark returned to Ecuador to marry Nube and Paul married them at our camp in Cuenca in 1995 and they have served in Southern Ecuador since that time. They have three children and returned to Ecuador Monday evening after completing their furlough in Ireland.

As EBI is introducing new publications into the Hispanic community, we are desirous of increasing our distribution. August 8-11 we will be presenting EBI in an Exposition (EXPXOLIT) attended by many Hispanic Publishers and Distributors in Miami. We are praying that this will give us access to several major Christian Book Distributors across Latin America.

Please pray for Elaine. She had an MRI on Friday, July 20th and will have an appointment with the surgeon Monday, July 30th. Pray that the vertebrae that is pressing on a nerve may be corrected with a minimal intervention relieving her pain.

In His service,

Paul and Elaine Kintner
